SoKNOS Dialog

SoKNOS

In SoKNOS Dialog, research results from the joint project SoKNOS are being evaluated with actual users in a practical context. Concepts and methods for disaster management developed in SoKNOS are being prototypically transferred to an SAP software basis, thus allowing for swift testing of selected individual concepts. This testing will then lead to an extended evaluation of a practical exercise, with a focus on capturing the communication between all participating agents and subsequently improving computerized support for the tasks included in the field test.

At the same time SoKNOS Dialog enables our application partners to acquaint themselves with and test new technologies in a familiar environment. They are also participating in the requirements engineering process, thus influencing future product development to more closely reflect their actual, practical needs. Furthermore, being involved in current research provides better insight and improved planning reliability regarding future IT projects.

B2M Software is participating in SoKNOS Dialog as a member of the consortium. Part of our contribution to the project lies in supporting the process of describing and analysing the chosen use case, as well as the specification and implementation of the resulting system's components. Furthermore an evaluation system is being set up which encompasses a number of ICT concepts such as web services, video telephony or mobile applications for wireless transmission of video and positioning data. Another major aspect is the integration of data from existing IT systems - for example the control center of the involved fire department - into the SoKNOS Dialog system.

You can find additional information on the project here (German only).
